Winnie (she/her/hers) is a first generation immigrant-settler of Chinese descent from Hong Kong living on unceded and ancestral territories of the hən̓̓qəmin̓ əm̓ and Sḵwx̱ wú7mesh speaking peoples in Burnaby, BC. Winnie is a social purpose leader who is a community builder, change activator, and systems shifter. Winnie's lived experience and education are foundational to her commitment to social and environmental justice.
Grounded in equity and intersectionality, Winnie has 25+ years of experience leading social impact organizations and managing programs in the environmental and arts sectors. Winnie holds degrees in Sociology and Education from University of British Columbia. Before joining West Coast Environmental Law, Winnie was the inaugural Executive Director at The Starfish Canada and Interim Executive Director at ArtStarts in Schools.
Outside of work, Winnie finds peace in forests and mountains, inspiration in performing arts experiences, and joy in spending time with her spouse and two children.
