WCELA Submissions on the Environmental Assessment Aspects of the Environmental and Regulatory Reviews Discussion Paper

This submission outlines key recommendations from West Coast Environmental Law Association in response to the federal government's Environmental and Regulatory Reviews Discussion Paper, particularly as it pertains to Canada's environmental assessment (EA) regime. Building on the outcomes of two Environmental Assessment Reform Summits hosted by West Coast, as well our recommendations to the Expert Panel appointed to review Canada’s EA processes (the EA Expert Panel), the submission outlines priority elements of the reforms required to satisfy the government’s commitment to introduce new, fair environmental assessment processes that were absent from or undermined by the Discussion Paper.
